The Chilling Stars: The New Theory of Climate Change
The Chilling Stars: The New Theory of Climate Change – Review
In a nutshell, this book defends that cosmic rays (which vary in intensity over time due to different factors) play a HUGE role in accurately determining our climate. How? Because cosmic rays effectively “seed” clouds. More cosmic rays more clouds global cooling. Fewer cosmic rays fewer clouds global warming. I know — it sounds like a ficticious study financed by the auto/oil industries, but it’s not (as far as I can tell!). The book presents interesting support of this theory, which seems to be currently receiving more credibility and study in the technical community. Will it turn out to be generally considered “true”. Time will tell. I thoroughly enjoyed this book because it presents “new” data that challenges the consensus opinion on the affects of CO2 on climate change. That’s NOT because I think we don’t want to reduce CO2 emissions dramatically. On the contrary, CO2’s effects on ocean acidificaton are a clear reason to lower CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere. It’s interesting to see how many things mankind has only recently (in the last few decades) become aware of how the Earth has been impacted by the UNIVERSE and not “the gods”, other humans, or perhaps the Sun. Of course, at first “knowledgeable” scientists debate the new findings, and frequently disagree because they conflict with years of currently learning, and therefore are potentially threatening. Not that long ago, the “church” decided that recent discoveries were simply wrong. This book is clearly understood by the layman, and I HIGHLY recommend it. Wish I could give it 10 stars!
