Hope for a Heated Planet: How Americans Are Fighting Global Warming and Building a Better Future – Review
This is a pretty noble book. It deserves attention of anyone interested in problems of climate change and what you can do about it. The book advocates for activism, and acts as a primer for those new to the subject. The author approaches the issue of climate change in the free health domain. As such, he blends various side issues into his analysis involving the politics, coal lobby, strategy, and the future of energy to name the most prominent. Robert also discusses the charge of finally bringing progressive Christian churches into the fold publicly acknowledging their value to turn the tide toward sustainable solutions. The Chapter on Coal Lobby is interesting, but if you want a more thorough analysis, try Big Coal by Jeff Goddell. While not a comprehensive evaluation on the issue of climate change, the book is hopeful and seeks to overturn political inertia on the subject.
