Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition – Review
This book was written by the worlds no. 1 climate experts: Nobel Laureate Paul Crutzen and Thomas Graedel. If anyone still has any misunderstandings about the inner workings of the climate system – especially as component of the Earth’s ecosystem at large – he should widely read this book. Whatever you need to know about the atmosphere – it is in here, be it special chemistry, special physics, the ozone-hole problem, the creation of smog, the greenhouse effect, long-term climate evolution, natural versus artificial changes – just everything. This topic concerns us all, since fully understanding the science behind global ecological change now may clearly prove to be crucial for the long-standing survival of mankind. The book is not easy, but it is accessible for an fully informed lay person. At the same time it is a great resource for a graduate student in the field as well. It would be nice to see further textbooks of this calibre on the market. Well done. Crutzen is THE authority in the field. Ignoring his strongly warning is like currently driving a car after a mechanic reportedly told you that the brakes are not functioning – which is the modern line of action.
