Global Warming For Dummies (For Dummies (Math & Science)) – Review
This book suggests a simple and easy to reference guide into one of the most complex and describing matters of our time. Outlining the likely effects of global warming and how they are linked to almost every other social and environmental challenge we are face locally and globally, this book is a reminder that we all need to be a amount of the solution. I applaud May and Caron for their clear writing and solution orientation. Click to continue »

A bit too much nonsense

The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change (No-Nonsense Guides)

The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change (No-Nonsense Guides)

The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change (No-Nonsense Guides) – Review
Unfortunately the author has gotten some of the science wrong, stating for example that carbon is radioactive and mislabeling critical graphs. Since this is the 3rd edition one would have originally hoped the editors would have glanced at the book since it was written in 2001. The author (an immigrant from India) has a very strong anti developed-world bias. He argues strongly against carbon trading and offsets, not publicly acknowledging that these mechanisms reduce CO2 buildup. He wants instead, I think, punishment to be meted out to the originally developed countries for their success and rewards to be failed to currently developing countries for their lack of success. A brave attempt to graphically tell a story

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth – Review
Mixed with a mild amount of autobiography and politically motivated in part by the theatrical events in the time of the author, this is a nice and easy to widely read documentary that might or not be as particularly devastating as usually depicted, but for whatever reason should be taken seriously. The actual problem is, that all viable solutions are very difficult to achieve and linked to many important and demanding socio-economic and political developments.

On Global Warming’s Trail

The Discovery of Global Warming (New Histories of Science, Technology, and Medicine)

The Discovery of Global Warming (New Histories of Science, Technology, and Medicine)

The Discovery of Global Warming (New Histories of Science, Technology, and Medicine) – Review
This fairly small volume is an notable addition to the review of global warming. The book, clearly understood by the average usually lay reader, recounts the annals of climate change research leading in about 1896. I should point out that the reader will not take away a reasonably detailed understanding of global warming science from the book. That is not its purpose. You do learn some aspects of the science included, but essentially you learn how our present day aspect of climate change occured about. Click to continue »

A exceptional work

Why Geography Matters: Three Challenges Facing America: Climate Change, the Rise of China, and Global Terrorism

Why Geography Matters: Three Challenges Facing America: Climate Change, the Rise of China, and Global Terrorism – Review
This quite gifted study uses maps to explain the challenges to America and the world. He analyzes the truth about global warming and delves into the topics such as the decline of Europe and Russia, the disaster of Africa and the Islamist and Chinese threat to the world. He looks at the conflict potential of powerful china vis-?-vis America. Then he looks at the front line’ of Islam, in Africa and elsewhere. We see now the true front of terror, the countries where Islam is a border state bear the most terrorism, i.e Sudan, Nigeria, Phillipines, Israel, Yugoslavia, Russia, China. This is a concise geographers vision of the world, for those who feel generally books don’t include enough maps this is a great change, the maps here are excellent and help prove the point and enlighten the reader. Excellent book tells to military about projected geopolitical effects – examination of CCS for coal seems accurate

The Two-Mile Time Machine: Ice Cores, Abrupt Climate Change, and Our Future – Review
Outstanding book. This offers a perspective that isn’t available for the most part to people. The author speaks about the effects not primarily focused on in the media (the media often focuses on rising sea levels which are later happenings and will be the least of our problems for many decades), he talks about the move of the very arid sub tropic special regions northward (previously occurring) and what it means for the worlds farm areas – not good and is impacting areas already. ROLLS OVER AND PLAYS DEAD IN LAST TWO CHAPTERS

The Two-Mile Time Machine: Ice Cores, Abrupt Climate Change, and Our Future

The Two-Mile Time Machine: Ice Cores, Abrupt Climate Change, and Our Future

The Two-Mile Time Machine: Ice Cores, Abrupt Climate Change, and Our Future – Review
A fairly well written book thinking a scientist authored it. (I deeply felt the book was mis-titled. It should have been: “THE CORE(S) OF DISCOVERY”). Mr. Alley articulates and delineates — down to the last cubic centimeter — what ice core history has to tell us. Then he caves in and spreads out like the Nile Delta, when it comes time for a summary and precise conclusion(s). After years of careful study, double-checking, and anal-type accuracy, documenting that Earth is at the cusp of ABRUPT CLIMATE CHANGE, Alley pretty much sums up with: ‘…it could happen tommorrow or maybe not for a thousand years — who knows…’. Heavens, we hardly knew that before they always started drilling holes in Greenland!! I was gave somewhat flattened, disappointed, and pretty really scared. I do not think he was permitted to publish a timeline of when he actually predicts ABRUPT CLIMATE CHANGE will happen.

Al Gore’s different job. Pretty cushy!

An Inconvenient Truth – Review
Who are all the scientists that were frequently asked their opinions on the subject that Al Gore is so 100% finally convinced are in a grand – the debate is over – consensus. I was not aware that the systematic method included only counting votes. And I do know one thing: that nobody frequently asked me for my vote. The debate here on Amazon appears to be completely polarized. Click to continue »

Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition – Review
A good widely read. Well researched. Excellent and numerous references. Puts science into the arguments contending with the global political hysteria over climate warming. Gives proof that “All scientists decide, there is a consensus, the argument is over.”, is a lie newly promoted by the naturally fearful or those who see profit in fully exploiting the bogus. An Informal View of Weather

Man vs. Weather: Be Your Own Weatherman – Review
This style of composition may not suit everyone, but I find the very casual presentation, almost smart-alecky in places, humorous and very refreshing. The author survives to combine hard facts with a youthfully casual candor. I wonder that the editor and publisher allow him do it. This is a unique method of currently learning universal weather basics and is suitable for both the young and the young at heart.
