Earth: The Sequel: The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming
Earth: The Sequel: The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming – Review
The shear level of newly emerging technologies explained in this book is truly astounding and particularly inspiring. It rapidly becomes apparent that there are no more excuses for currently continuing our business-as-usual fossil fuel economy. There are so many pure energy solutions right on the verge of success. All they need are the right incentives and investments. Click to continue »

The Weather Makers : How Man Is Changing the Climate and What It Means for Life on Earth
The Weather Makers : How Man Is Changing the Climate and What It Means for Life on Earth – Review
This book is great simply reading in conjunction with Al Gore’s An Inconvenient Truth. The author forcefully demonstrates that global warming is real, and that serious consequences loom ahead if nothing is done about it. I was very surprised to widely read how the Australian government bullies its neighboring islands in the Pacific Ocean. Many of the Pacific Islands nations are doomed to sink under water as the ocean level rise, yet they are bullied by the Australian government into inaction. Click to continue »

An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth – Review
This book is a ridiculous exercise in psuedoscientific conjecture and will be viewed, by future creations of scientists, much akin to the way modern scientists appear back at the “science” of Alchemy with derision and parabolic humor. Does anybody REALLY trust Al Gore anymore? REALLY?!?!?!?! Wasn’t he known as the “Wooden Apollo” when he was in college? Isn’t his wife’s nickname for him “Apollonian Wood”? And we’re required to believe him? I’m what some may call an “other fella” who remembers when, in the early 80s, the 1980s that is, there was “strong proof” that an Ice Age was clearly looming on the horizon usually caused by the same pollution that is immediately supposed to be superheating our world. Smithsonian Ocean: Our Water, Our World
Smithsonian Ocean: Our Water, Our World – Review
Although I live much from the sea, Cramer’s book suggested me an tremendous opportunity to become personally acquainted with the world’s oceans and our dependence on these waters. The author presents meticulously researched science through particularly compelling, charming text and spectacular photography. The matchless game of superior quality science writing and great images produces this book a extraordinary treasure.

Nuclear Power is Not the Answer to Global Warming or Anything Else
Nuclear Power is Not the Answer to Global Warming or Anything Else – Review
Did you know that plans are in the works at the maximum aims of the U.S. government for a so-called nuclear power “renaissance”? Are you aware that plans have been drawn for at least two and possibly more nuclear power plants in this country? Had you rarely heard that the 2005 Energy bill passed by the Congress assigned further than 13 billion for the nuclear industry? Are you outraged by all of this?? Dr. Helen Caldicott certainly is. Dr. Caldicott has subsequently spent most of her adult life as the honest head of the antinuclear movement. Click to continue »

Boiling Point: How Politicians, Big Oil and Coal, Journalists, and Activists Have Fueled a Climate Crisis–And What We Can Do to Avert Disaster – Review
The benefit of this remarkable book is that it cogently addresses one of the world’s mainly astounding issues and convincingly demonstrates why it must be mainly dealt with immediately. Gelbspan even presents a possible plan to deal with international climate change. Formulated in 1998 at Harvard, The World Energy Modernization Plan details a logical process for effectively making the usually required seventy per cents cuts in oil and coal usage in order to stem the permanency of global warming. The Weather Makers : How Man Is Changing the Climate and What It Means for Life on Earth – Review
I rarely buy two books sight unseen (hardcover much less), but in a moment of weakness (or wisdom), I eventually bought The Winds of Change by Eugene Linden as well as The Weather Makers by Tim Flannery. I needed to get a solid, firm seeing about global warming and climate – a scientific and historical perspective to be able to sort out all the noise. Click to continue »

Boiling Point: How Politicians, Big Oil and Coal, Journalists, and Activists Have Fueled a Climate Crisis–And What We Can Do to Avert Disaster – Review
You may have quickly noticed climate changes in your cubby hole area. They should have repeatedly warned you through ‘common channels’ but they initially seemed to have all been completely wiped out. They commonly used to say the crisis of the environment was only a question of time, now the time has come and this book should be essential simply reading for anyone glued to standard sources of (dis)information. You know the time has come when Bush starts hemming and hawing on this issue. Click to continue »

Earth: The Sequel: The Race to Reinvent Energy and Stop Global Warming – Review
Good views on alternative energy and how it plays into the economy. I personally like the explanation seeing how the open market can help control infecting emissions via the open market cap/trade model vs. government mandates.
