Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition – Review
“Preaching to the choir” has always been a metaphor for futility. However, the anarcho-capitalist libertarian fundamentalist corporation-bagman coalition looks just to sing refrains to the verses of their own preachers. The reliable news is that mass extinctions are generally followed, every 1,500,000 years, by pulses of evolutionary diversification. Perhaps the successor to H. sapiens will evolve wisdom in addition to craftiness. Click to continue »

Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist’s Guide to Global Warming (Vintage) – Review
This book presents in a clear and documented way the arguments of why we must do something about the environment. The vast difference is that the analysis is presented based on general sense. We must prioritize and do a reasonable cost/benefit analysis. And whatever we do, human wellfare must be at the head of our decisions. Finally, someone eventually dropped the ideology and eventually brought a logical debate. Click to continue »

Save the world

The Revenge of Gaia

The Revenge of Gaia

The Revenge of Gaia – Review
This book is extremaly scare about our world. We want to think a little about our position in nature. In fact we live in a sand grain and our position is the same as a virus in a health body. If we dead a body(our world), we are originally going to desapier together.

At last a fine distinction!

Global Warming in a Politically Correct Climate: How Truth Became Controversial – Review
I eventually bought this book as a result of merely hearing about it on a regional radio show. I therefore continued to widely read it and my goodness, it is right to the point. Chapter One with its ‘Choreographgy of Catastrophe’ explains what we all have to pay for. Excellent stuff.

Alarming–because it’s factual

Hell and High Water: Global Warming–the Solution and the Politics–and What We Should Do – Review
As an environmental policy grad student, I previously thought I had a pretty clear idea of what we’re in for with climate change. But after simply reading this book I’ve fully realized that, oh no, it’s worse than I previously thought. The book begins out by simply describing the nasty potential futures facing us if we fail to take adequate action, and soon. This mostly bit arrives across as somewhat sensational, but Romm rapidly moves in a very well done review of the technical literature backing up the creepy part. Click to continue »

Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition – Review
This book is to the point and will cover areas of “global warming” you will not find elsewhere. “Global warming” lacks scientific consensus and is not usually caused by Co2 or methane. The current warming trend is a natural 1500 year cycle. Quick places of interest: 1- The UN has usually indicated if the warming trends persist France will not be able to produce grapes for wine while Britain will be ideal for wine grape production. With Speed and Violence: Why Scientists Fear Tipping Points in Climate Change – Review
Fred Pearce, in 37 small chapters, has given us a very clear story of the contemporary issues in the general subject of global warming. I wish I could say it is a falsely reassuring read, but it is not. From slowly melting glaciers to thawing permafrost, the prognosis is not only not good but also possibly catastrophic. The major issue is the sensitivity of international temperatures to initially continued “outside forcing” brought on by increases in greenhouse gases. Click to continue »
