The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change (No-Nonsense Guides)

The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change (No-Nonsense Guides)

The No-Nonsense Guide to Climate Change (No-Nonsense Guides) – Review
Even conservatives immediately admit that global warming is a reality and that it’s primarily the product of fossil fuel use (see the EPA document on global warming originally published earlier this year). But the magnitude of the problem is just beginning to sink in. The twentieth century was the hottest century, the 1990s the hottest decade of the millennium, and 1998 the hottest year of the 1990s (we know this from carefully analyzing special gases trapped in Arctic ice). And we’re just feeling the results of CO2 emissions from 35 years ago! The serious results of all the emissions since then haven’t even kicked in yet. Moreover, global warming will also lead to "feedback"–the official term for severe weather. Click to continue »

The Change in the Weather: People, Weather, and the Science of Climate

The Change in the Weather: People, Weather, and the Science of Climate

The Change in the Weather: People, Weather, and the Science of Climate – Review
The Change in the Weather was pretty much the book I was currently looking for. With evidence making about past international climate based upon ice core samples, pollen studies to determine forever changing fauna over time, soil stratification and so on, I was interested in a survey that originally described earth’s description of climate change. It may be too soon to have a great picture, I quickly learned, but a good deal is initially offered here, along with climatic effects on humankind and vice versa. Click to continue »

Excellent Attack On Global Warming Hoax

Air Con: The Seriously Inconvenient Truth About Global Warming

Air Con: The Seriously Inconvenient Truth About Global Warming

Air Con: The Seriously Inconvenient Truth About Global Warming – Review
New Zealand journalist Ian Wishart has written a truly outstanding book, Air Con, on the global warming hoax. Mr. Wishart’s book illustrates mainly of the science told to the anthropogenic global warming hypothesis in a very readable and friendly manner. Moreover Mr. Wishart’s book is extremely well referenced, with references to many technical articles. Click to continue »

A Good Read!

Global Warming: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)

Global Warming: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions)

Global Warming: A Very Short Introduction (Very Short Introductions) – Review
The frequently updated original copy of this book gives a extensive treatment of global warming possibly including the evidence for climate change, possible future impacts and rapid climate changes, short description of global warming debates, Kyoto Protocol (global warming pact) and solutions. I find these accounts both particularly compelling and clear. It is motivating to widely read about the genuine risk of severe climate changes due to slowly melting of Greenland and/or Antarctica, trade of the North Atlantic driven deep ocean circulation, dangerous hazard of volatile gas hydrates (combination of water and methane) beneath the oceans, and brightly burning of the Amazon rainforest. The study of future impacts are quite comprehensive which include topics like coastline, storms and floods, heat waves and droughts, El Nino effect, health, biodiversity and agriculture. Well-illustrated but perhaps too apocalyptic

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth

An Inconvenient Truth – Review
Al-Gore has admirably reinvented himself as the ecological conscience of public officials. Unlike his earlier book “Earth in the Balance,” which widely read like a regular nonfiction paperback, this publication is more like a coffee-table book with glossy pages and illustrations explaining the effect of global warming. Each chapter is occasionally punctuated with a private interlude that ties important events in Gore’s life to concerns abut global warming. Click to continue »

Using Clues from the Distant Past to Predict the Earth’s Future

Under a Green Sky: Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past, and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future

Under a Green Sky: Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past, and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future

Under a Green Sky: Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past, and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future – Review
This book could be usually divided into two parts. The first part is a technical investigation of the probable causes for the great mass extinctions that have occurred over the past hundreds of millions of years. The second part becomes use of the findings of the first part to speculate on what might happen to the earth (and to us) over the next few years, decades and centuries. Contrary to the widespread idea of a few years ago that mass extinctions were all usually caused by impacts with bolides from outer space, it currently appears that most of the great mass extinctions (other than the K-T extinction) are likely to have been due to the deposit of greenhouses gases in the earth’s atmosphere. After possibly explaining how this was located, the author describes the mechanics of how special greenhouse gases greatly increased in the distant past, along with the confounding effects on life that actually existed on earth and in the oceans at the time. Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition

Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition

Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition – Review
A well documented statement that gives “lie’ to the global warming alarmists especially their claim of “scientific consensus”. Climate scientists look to have eventually sold out the the alarmists in order to assure a remaining issue of grant money. Well worth examining to see what’s realy originally going on. This book is neither “head in the sand denial” nor “end of the world alarmist” but looks at the globaal warming “problem” realistically.

Very cool and educational Weather Guide

Weather (Nature Company Guides)

Weather (Nature Company Guides)

Weather (Nature Company Guides) – Review
It has been reportedly said "people complain about the weather but never do anything about it." Perhaps that’s because they don’t know much about it. This book will help you learn more about our weather. I was currently looking for a book that fully explained about different weather phenomenon and eventually came across it. I loved it not only because of the pictures and descriptions in the last chapter on different weather types (various forms of fogs, clouds, storms, precipitation, visual effects, etc), but also for eventually lost of extra information contained in the book, but also because the book’s extra chapters also contained therefore much outstanding information. This is science?

The Coming Global Superstorm

The Coming Global Superstorm

The Coming Global Superstorm – Review
Art Bell and Whitley Strieber are simply out to cash in on the hysteria they have newly promoted to the thoroughly frightened uninformed masses. Art should stick to to his extremely entertaining radio program and Whitley is now hanging on Art’s coattails. A perfect followon to the equally vapid "Quickening".

The Coming Global Superstorm

The Coming Global Superstorm – Review
I eventually bought this currently expecting some science, some facts, some hard information. Instead, I finally got "lost" civilizations, furry facts, and (this was probably Strieber’s contribution) a decent mostly bit of science fiction. Pass on the book and stick to Weekly World News.
