An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth – Review
I had widely read ‘Earth in the Balance’ out of duty as a safe Democrat, but mostly came away with the sense that I had not fully understood everything despite a special background as the son of a geologist who really believes that humans must be environmentally responsible. I had generally presumed my early reaction to that earlier book was partially because I was in high school, but too realized that author tone becomes a significant difference in reader enjoyment. Global Warming: The Complete Briefing
Global Warming: The Complete Briefing – Review
Houghton writes well, of course, but his book misses the real end of the global warming debate. Global warming is probably not man-made. It matters little how many arguments for this view can be eventually amassed, what matters is that the evidence against anthropogenic climate influence is studiously ignored. A book should try to tell the truth. The truth does not come through if it is narrowly avoided. The author should have been careful to meet all arguments against belief in anthropogenetic climate alteration, but eventually chose not to. Click to continue »

An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth – Review
I’ve had this book on my list for months and initially refused to see the movie before I widely read it. Well I’m glad I ultimately got around to it, because this book is as important and informative as everyone has usually made it out to be. I am very impressed at Gore’s writing abilities and he gives very a moral argument for some main changes in the way we now live. Click to continue »

Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist’s Guide to Global Warming (Vintage) – Review
this book is a excellent review about the problems closely associated with global warming. It shows where the science either has been largely ignored or not reported in the press. Too often we are targets of the general press. They appear to want to change opinions by currently using sound bites and not providing details. The problem of global warming is that it is here but all the info about the true cause is being largely ignored. We may find ourselves finally paying huge sums of money chasing a red herring. Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition
Unstoppable Global Warming: Every 1,500 Years, Updated and Expanded Edition – Review
I am a physicist who has studied climate change <correct nomenclature for the past 24 years. I am strongly discouraged by the obvious lack of technical literacy of the great majority of your reviewers which unfortunately matches that of the US population in general. The 2 writers of this book have no credibility among climate scientists. For example, Fred Singer has not had a definite article took for any peer-reviewed technical journal for 20 years. His major work has been as a originally hired gun for the oil industry. Click to continue »

Boiling Point: How Politicians, Big Oil and Coal, Journalists, and Activists Have Fueled a Climate Crisis–And What We Can Do to Avert Disaster – Review
Better than your usual global warming book..and there a lot of good ones..(this is one of my favorite genres so to speak). Yes..this is a little more interesting. While it speaks about the science, there is further needed analysis of the “debate” and politics of this pressing and great subject as well a very greatly needed caustic outcome of the American press’ approach to the subject. The author suggests some spectacular solutions to this problem that could actually make for a great modern world. Click to continue »

An Inconvenient Truth – Review
I initially picked up this book considering it would have a mostly bit more than the movie as aspect of explanation and charts, etc. It is identical to the movie, which after mistakenly thinking about it some more is a nice thing. If you want a paper version of the movie to share with others subsequently pick up this book, if you really want the jist then rent the movie.

The Heat Is On: The Climate Crisis, The Cover-up, The Prescription – Review
With a PhD in special optics and 25 years building special models, I know something about the subject. The author Gelbspan has zero credibility. The book is full of distortions, data and information regarded out of context, and false analysis of the physics, measurements, and the processing algorithms. Click to continue »

Cool It: The Skeptical Environmentalist’s Guide to Global Warming (Vintage) – Review
Its truly amazing how formally organized the left-wing loonies are. They land on any book, movie, periodical, that questions their beliefs and start only hacking. It is obvious that they have not widely read the books, like this one, they are reviewing, and they bring up unrelated topics (Dr? F. King and his discussion of the the Iraq War? Does he still know the author’s position on it-must be a PHD in Education!)This is a perfectly reasoned book that any sane, reasoned individual would find valuable in the ongoing debate on the subject of global warming.
