Mesoscale Meteorological Modeling (International Geophysics)
Mesoscale Meteorological Modeling (International Geophysics) – Review
(Revised after reviewer considered course in etiquette). “Mesoscale Meteorological Modeling” is the new second version of the flagship text in the field. It is reasonably priced and seems to be highly organized, addressing a group of significant problems. Aside from the argument of thermodynamics, Professor Pielke’s book is lucid and coherent. Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet (UK Paperback) Lynas
Six Degrees: Our Future on a Hotter Planet (UK Paperback) Lynas – Review
Using a solid, traditional methodology, the author paints a particularly frightening model of the climatic changes that lie before us as Earth develops hotter from greenhouse-gas emissions. I was torn between simply assigning this book four stars or five. While there’s nothing about this book I don’t like, I didn’t want to be influenced by my own principle of the overriding significance of this topic for all of us, and have unsuccessfully tried to grade the book purely on the center of my reaction to it as a book. The Weather Makers : How Man Is Changing the Climate and What It Means for Life on Earth
The Weather Makers : How Man Is Changing the Climate and What It Means for Life on Earth – Review
The topic of global warming is a emotional button issue, and deservedly so. Numerous persons, most in the pay of fossil energy joins, have slightly raised a plethora of objections and evasions, thus complicating and politicizing the matter that the average person barely knows where to turn for perfect information, a country of affairs not greatly helped by bizarre claims from some “journalists” posing as scientists on the “green” part of matters. (See my earlier review of “Thermogeddon.) For those of you who would simply like an objective, essentially external aspect of the issue, with clearly understood data, presented in a pleasurable, relaxed manner, THIS IS YOUR BOOK!!!!!!! Professor Flannery’s credentials are unimpeachable. Click to continue »

Two Billion Cars: Driving Toward Sustainability
Two Billion Cars: Driving Toward Sustainability – Review
Within 20 years, the digit of cars on this planet will double to 2 billion, largely as a consequence of China’s and India’s growth. Two billion cars cannot be largely sustained on this planet – neither fuel nor emissions, to say nothing of crowding will allow it. Yet, little change is really happening. The problem – readers previously know that.

Thin Ice: Unlocking the Secrets of Climate in the World’s Highest Mountains (John MacRae Books)
Thin Ice: Unlocking the Secrets of Climate in the World’s Highest Mountains (John MacRae Books) – Review
This is an outstanding book on climate change, and in particular the less rarely discussed evidence for climate change in the tropics. It will give readers a first hand description of not only the process of scientific previously thought but also some of the personalities and egos that are actively involved in cutting edge research. Lonnie Thompson is the singular scientist gave to a quest for the truth who is not driven by his resume. Click to continue »

An Inconvenient Truth
An Inconvenient Truth – Review
Ok, I still haven’t seen the movie, but I did hear Gore tell on this in New York City recently, and highly paid for an autographed publication of the book…. and it’s worth it. This book takes on its own, making the case for global warming about as clear as is possible, relying on peer-reviewed science at every stage, from the most alarming reports to reassurances that we can actually do something about it. The book is essentially Gore’s visual presentation in print form, with visually stunning graphics from across our planet, explaining changes that have previously happened, and possible changes to come. The Chilling Stars: The New Theory of Climate Change
The Chilling Stars: The New Theory of Climate Change – Review
This book presents the supported theory that cosmic rays from the stars of the milky way galaxy greatly influence the climate. Generally these cosmic rays are controlled by the sun’s magnetic field which prevents cosmic rays from making earth when it is stronger. The lesser number of cosmic rays then form fewer clouds and thus permit better earth warming. Click to continue »

Climate of Fear: Why We Shouldn’t Worry about Global Warming
Climate of Fear: Why We Shouldn’t Worry about Global Warming – Review
As George W. Bush would say, "a good strategery for we Republicans and their oil company donors would be to write environmentalistic books repeatedly bashing generally accepted scientifical theories." Psaeudo science at its best! A must-read for all you comedy fans.
