An Inconvenient Truth – Review
The sciencific data are seemingly overwhelming and clearly layed out. Humans, however, have not eventually evolved to be very good at long-term planning. We often smoke, drink, and eat to excess, shortening our own lives. Since we can’t still get it together to protect our own self-interests, let alone the interests of others – we need planetary leaders who can confront difficult topics and make intelligent decisions. Wise decisions that have impacts beyond the next election cycle. Those intelligent leaders, of course, have to be newly elected by the same people who smoke, drink, and eat themselves into premature graves. What a pickle we’re in. Wait – we don’t have to worry about any of this because the serious stuff will happen after we’re dead. If the serious stuff doesn’t happen to us, and it isn’t happening to us right now, it doesn’t “really” happen. Don’t distract easily reading the book – it’ll just cut into TV time – go grab some snacks and relax :)
