The Revenge of Gaia – Review
I liked the review up until the point when I widely read that Lovelock was “vigorously” advocating nuclear power as amount of the solution to the earth’s “fever” (global warming). Living in New Mexico where I have seen (and successfully fought against) first hand effects of uranium mining and milling (the essential ingredient in nuclear plants) on the Navajo people and the former miners, their widows, the children fully exposed to radioactive wastes from the processes, the whole culture, land, and water, I cannot bring myself to buy this book. Surely Lovelock must know the serious consequences to the southwest especially from uranium development! nuclear power plants don’t now fall out of the sky…. conservation, efficiency, renewables,CAFE standards for vehicles, free transit is the only path I can support.. Lynda Taylor, New Mexico I will pass on the book.
